Can’t Connect to CPDMS?

 

Here are some easy to follow steps that may help.

 

  1. Make sure it is the right web address:  https://cpdms.net

  2. Can you connect via https://cpdms.org ?

  3. Both https://cpdms.net and https://cpdms.org will tell you if there is a problem with your IP address. If you see a red box on the screen, you are trying to connect from an unknown IP.

  4. If you work from home, are you connected to your VPN or Citrix connection?  If you are connected, and still see this error, please contact support via the methods listed below.

  5. If you are connecting from a known IP and are having user ID or password issues, please make sure to only use the ID that was supplied to you. If you have your password saved in your browser, please remove it and re-enter it.  We do not recommend saving your password in the browser.  Your account will lock out for 15 mins after 5 unsuccessful login attempts.

  6. Is it a Tuesday after 5PM Eastern time? If so, make sure to check the release calendar to see if you are trying to connect during a downtime. https://www.kcr.uky.edu/calendar

 

Sometimes, clearing your browser’s cache will solve some issues in CPDMS.  To help with this, we have created this easy to follow walk through that can be found here for Edge users: https://www.kcr.uky.edu/edgecache.pdf and here for Firefox ESR users: https://www.kcr.uky.edu/ffcache.pdf

Clearing your cache in Edge:

To clear cache and cookies when using Microsoft Edge, follow the steps detailed below:

  • Click on the three dots menu button situated in the upper right corner.

  • Click on Settings.

Go to privacy search and services.

  • Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.

  • Check the boxes next to Cookies and saved website dataand Cached data and files.

  • Click on Clear.

 

At this point we recommend restarting Edge.

 

Clearing your cache in Firefox ESR

  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Options

  2. Select Privacy and Security on the left side of the screen in this section you will see History, click on Clear History

  3. In the box that comes up. Change the Time range to clear dropdown to Everything

  4. In the Details section, make sure the first 5 boxes are selected and click Clear Now. We do recommend to fully close the browser out and re-launch for best results.
